Regeneration or Substitution —which are you choosing? Why is that an important question? Why does it even matter? Because your choice affects your quality of life! Let’s start with an example: Credit cards are a convenient substitute for cash, which is an advantage to 1) carrying a lot of cash around and 2) makes bookkeeping a little simpler. And 3) they can be useful in a financial crisis. But what if you have a lifestyle of never budgeting your income to pay off the credit cards? That leads to bankruptcy. What we think is a lifestyle of freedom can often create enslavement! What if we live a lifestyle of choosing the convenience of consuming processed ‘fast foods’ in boxes to save ourselves the time and energy it takes to cook?
